This kit includes a new direct replacement fan, clutch, and all of the hardware needed to get it installed. Over the years, fans can become broken, clutches can become damaged, and hardware can start to rust or stripped. This can leave you with a malfunctioning cooling system causing overheating and many other problems.

A common problem with a Fox Body Mustang fan blade is excessive cracks between each blade causing the fan to come apart. DCR offers a direct replacement fan to fix this problem and get your cooling system functioning properly again.

Fan clutches can start to go out over the years, especially on 1979-1993 Fox Body Mustangs. A failing fan clutch could make a whining noise, vibrations, or grinding noises. With this kit, you get a brand new clutch to prevent future disasters.

What’s up everyone? Landan with lmr.com! In this video, I’ll be taking a look at 5.0 Resto’s fan blade and clutch kit, as well as showing you guys how easy it is to install into your 1979 to 1993 Mustang.

This kit from 5.0 Resto is essential to your Fox Body’s cooling system.

A defective fan and/or clutch assembly can cause overheating issues, awful noises, and a host of other problems.

Old fans will start to develop cracks between the blades and in some cases a few of the blades are actually broken.

Now the clutch assembly is usually the reason for awful noises when it starts to go bad if that is something you are experiencing.

The fluid within the assembly also breaks down overtime and will not allow the clutch to fully engage.

5.0 Resto’s kit includes a new fan blade, a new clutch assembly, and installation hardware.

This particular fan does service multiple models in the Ford line-up… so whenever you open the box you’ll notice a spacer… this is not needed for the Fox Body applications.
Both the fan blade and clutch assembly are premium replacements, and will offer a long service life.

This kit does service all 1979 to 1993 Mustangs.

Starting with the hood open…

Leave the drive belt in place in order to properly loosen the fan to water pump retaining bolts.

These are seven-sixteenths bolts and there are four of them.

Loosen and remove the two seven-sixteenths fan shroud to radiator retaining bolts.

Remove the overflow hose from the nipple on the radiator.

Disconnect the low coolant sensor electrical connection if equipped.

To remove the shroud and fan assembly… grab both of them in each hand and pull straight out.

Place the fan clutch on a block of wood or something similar with the shaft facing up.

Position the fan blade over the clutch.

Align the bolt holes.

Install the half-inch, coarse thread bolts with lock washers.

Evenly tighten these in a criss-cross pattern.

As you can see, the reason why we left the belt intact, is to keep the bolt holes in the pulley and water pump properly aligned.

Ensure that the fan shroud clips into the two lower clips at the bottom of the radiator.

Reverse the removal steps to install the fan and shroud assembly.

Install the four retaining bolts.

If needed, take a little tension off of the tensioner to evenly start all of the bolts by hand.

Fully tighten these bolts in a criss-cross pattern.

Reinstall and retighten the two, fan shroud to radiator retaining bolts.

Ensure that the fan blade does not come in contact with the shroud.

If it does, loosen the shroud to radiator bolts, pull up on the shroud and retighten the bolts.

Reconnect the overflow hose to the nipple on the radiator.

Reconnect the electrical connection.

After that, you’re all finished.

Alright guys, wrapping things up here… this kit from 5.0 Resto is a must have for any of guys that are needing to replace these components.
