How’s it going everyone? Landan with lmr.com! Welcome to my quick overview and install on this radiator air deflector from 5.0 Resto.
This radiator air deflector from 5.0 Resto is going to be for anyone needing to replace their damaged or missing factory one.
The air deflector’s job is to properly direct air up through the a/c condenser and obviously the radiator.
This will ensure that both the engine cooling system and a/c system are working at optimal level.
Now this particular replacement air deflector is molded from the black plastic and closely replicates the factory piece.
It easily installs into the bottom of the core support with four speed clips and four bolts.
As far as fitment is concerned… it will fit all 1987 to 1993 Fox Mustangs.
To begin, support the front of the car with jack stands or the entire thing with a lift.
If the existing one is still in place located the four, seven-sixteenths bolts.
Loosen and remove these bolts.
To remove the old speed clips, release the small tab with a flat head screw driver.
Then, you can push the clip out of the core support.
Remove all of the speed clips and then wipe down the area.
Go ahead and install each new speed clip into the openings on the core support.
Ensure that they fully seat.
Align the air deflector with the speed clips and make sure it’s orientated correctly as shown.
Start each of the four bolts by hand.
When tightening these down… they don’t have to be super tight.
After that, you can get the car on the ground and you’re all finished.
