Tools Required:

  • Heat gun
  • Adhesive remover
  • Plastic putty knife
  • Flat head screwdriver
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Ratchet & 10mm socket

Removal & Installation Instructions

  1. Start the removal process by removing the 13 plastic clips that hold the trunk liner to the inner trunk lid by pulling outwards on them, and they'll easily pull right out. Remove the inner trunk liner once loose
  2. Remove the 2 plastic caps on the outer edge of the inner trunk lid using a flat head screwdriver
  3. Using the 10mm socket, and ratchet remove the 4 nuts that hold on the factory spoiler
  4. Use the heat gun right around the edges of the factory spoiler to loosen the adhesive while gently lifting, and prying the spoiler upwards while applying heat. Remove the factory spoiler once the adhesive is loose enough
  5. Be sure to follow the instructions provided by the adhesive remover manufacturer to ensure no paint damage occurs. Apply the adhesive remover, and use a plastic putty knife, or squeegee to remove the leftover adhesive
  6. After all adhesive has been removed from the trunk lid, wipe down all areas where the new spoilers tape will adhere to ensure a strong hold
  7. Peel the backing from the double-sided tape on the spoiler
  8. Place the spoiler on the trunk lid, but do not apply pressure yet to seat the adhesive. Lift up the trunk lid while holding the spoiler to install the 4 Phillips head screws and washers
  9. Remove the tape from the spoiler insert. Apply gentle heavy pressure to the entire spoiler to seat the double-sided tape
  10. Reinstall your inner trunk liner by applying pressure to the same 13 plastic clips
