Hey everyone, Landan here. Today, I'm going to show you how to install a set of our SVE headlights and our LED light conversion kits into your 2005 to 2009 Mustang. Let's go ahead and jump over here to this '07 Mustang, and let me show you how simple this install is.
With your hood open, start by removing the six plastic pushpins from the radiator cover. Slide a flat-head screwdriver underneath the recessed edge and lift up. If that doesn't work, carefully remove the pushpin with needle-nose pliers. Once removed, lift up the radiator cover and set it aside.
Next, remove the two 10 millimeter bolts that hold the bumper pillar in place. Pull the pillar up and toward the front of the car to release the top of the bumper. Next, remove the three Phillips head screws that attach the splash shield to the bumper. Remove the pushpin from the splash shield.
Carefully pull the splash shield back and remove the two bolts that hold the bumper to the bottom bracket. Do the same for the other side.
Then, pull down on the bumper to free it from the bracket. Once free, carefully move the bumper back to remove the park light and fog light connections. Remove the bumper and set it aside.
Using a 10 millimeter socket, remove the three bolts that hold the headlight in place. One is located on the top and the two others are underneath. Also, remove the small plastic pushpin located near the top bolt. Remove the light and unplug the bulb connector. If you are installing new headlights and keeping your factory bulbs, install the new headlight and reinstall the bumper.
In this video, we are going to show you how to upgrade your factory bulbs to one of our LED light conversion kits. Start by cleaning the LED ballast with rubbing alcohol. We chose to use double sided tape for a more professional installation. Double sided tape is not included with our LED kits.
Clean the area on the car where you're going to place the ballast and resistors. Firmly press down on both to make sure the tape adheres well to the surface. Plug the connector from the LED ballast into your factory bulb connector.
Next, align the three tabs on the LED bulb to the three tabs in the bulb house. Rotate the bulb clockwise until it locks in place. Then, align the bulb connector with the ballast connector and tighten down the retaining nut. Slide the headlight back into place, tighten down the three bolts.
When reinstalling the bumper, be sure to reconnect all your lights, tighten down the bumper to the bracket, position the splash shield back into place, push your plastic pushpin through the splash shield, and tighten the three Phillips head screws. Push the bumper pillar over the tab and tighten the two bolts. Then reinstall your radiator cover and six plastic pushpins.
We were able to bring new life back to this 2007 Mustang by ditching those faded foggy headlights and installing a set of our SVE headlights and LED conversion kit. The install took me roughly 45 minutes to an hour, and it can be done in your driveway.
