Ford Performance Rear Seat Delete & X-Brace

This rear seat delete was standard equipment on the 2012 and 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca racecar. It obviously deletes the rear seat, helps improve chassis rigidity and you even shave a couple of pounds. Which, when it does come to racing every last pound saved helps out tremendously.

It will feature carpeted trim panels, a gray powder coated x-brace and the biggest feature to me with this kit is there is absolutely zero cutting or welding required. Also, since it was a factory option on those Boss Laguna Secas, you don’t have to worry about improper fitment.

Required Tools

  • Socket Set
  • Socket Wrench
  • Torque Wrench
  • Torx Driver Set

  4. Carefully remove the seat backs from the car.

  9. Carefully lift up on the scuff plate, disconnect the electrical connection if equipped, and remove the scuff plate.
  10. Remove the push pins from the quarter trim panel, pull out and away from the side of the car, then remove the panel.
  11. Do the same for the other side.
  12. Remove the four push pins securing the parcel shelf to the top of the car.
  13. Remove the parcel shelf.
  14. Take this time to vacuum up any crud that has accumulated over the years.
  15. Thread two of the included Torx bolts into the outer floor pan bracket holes.
  16. Do not tighten them all the way down.
  17. Position the center delete panel into the trunk and make sure it is centered.
  18. Position the X-brace and loosely start two of the 10mm bolts on the top.
  19. Loosely start the two bottom T-45 Torx bolts.
  20. Lift up on the X-brace if needed to center it.
  21. Snug down the bolts and torque the four top ones to 17 lb-ft and the bottom Torx bolts to 30 lb-ft.
  22. Install the two nut clips to the ends of the center panel.
  23. On the back of the seat delete, measure nine inches up from the bottom hole and then three and half inches from the edge of the panel; mark the spot.
  24. Place the double sided adhesive to the foam block and then firmly press the block to the panel.
  25. Do the same for the other side of the seat delete panel.
  26. Remove the two push pins securing the carpet to the floor.
  27. Reposition the parcel shelf and install the four previously removed push pins.
  28. We left our seat belts attached and tucked them away.
  29. You can remove the retractor assembly if you would like.
  30. Reinstall your interior quarter panels and push pins.
  31. Position the seat delete panel into the car.
  32. Align it with the center panel and install the fasteners with the locking end at the top and the longer, regular push pins at the bottom.
  33. Install the trim bezels, reinstall your scuff plates, double check your work and you’re all finished.
