2024+ Mustang Front Bumper Removal (S650)

In this article, we show how to remove the front bumper cover from a 2024-2026 S650 Mustang. This is applicable for all S650 models including EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse. Please note, on Performance Pack GT and Dark Horse models, you'll need to remove some extra push pins that secure ducting within the inner fender splash shields. Dark Horse models will also require removal of additional screws securing the chin spoiler and lower closeout panel.

Installation Instructions

Step 1: Disconnect the Battery

• We always recommend that you disconnect the battery when working with anything that is electrical. It's a practice that we have set in place when doing so.

• Take off the battery cover by removing the (three) screw-type retainers to gain access to the battery.

• Disconnecting the negative battery cable to prevent electrical mishaps.

Step 2: Prepare the Front of the Vehicle

• Either lift the front of the car or support it securely on a lift to gain access to the bumper.

• Take off both front wheels.

Step 3: Remove Front Splash Shield Push Pins & Lower Air Deflector

• On the driver’s side remove (eight) push pins securing the frontward section of the splash shield to allow for maneuverability.

• Underneath the car, loosen and remove the (three) 7mm screws along the rearward portion of the lower closeout panel.

• Then remove the front lower air deflector and repeat these steps on the other side.

• For certain models (e.g., GT, Darkhorse), you will need to remove the (two) push pins holding the brake cooling ducty to the splash shield. Also, the front lower air deflector will require removing specific push pins.
  
  

Step 4: Remove The Lower Closeout Panel

• Loosen and remove the (twelve) 7mm screws securing the lower closeout panel to the front bumper.
  
  

Step 5: Disconnect Electrical Connections

• Roll the splash shield away from the inside lip of the fender and disconnect the side marker connections on each side.

• Reach into the front bumper on the driver’s side to disconnect the main electrical connection. 
  
  

Step 6: Remove The Bumper From The Fender Brackets

• While still on the driver’s side, remove the (two) 10mm bolts securing the bumper to the fender. 

• Use a microfiber towel and wide pry tool to dislodge push pins holding the bumper to the fender. Do the same on the passenger side.

Step 7: Remove The Radiator Cover

• Remove the (eight) push pins on the radiator cover and remove the cover.

Step 8: Remove The Bumper Cover

• Detach the bumper cover by removing (seven) 7mm screws securing its top edge.

• Dislodge the small clips securing the front rubber seal to the core support, then lift the bumper over the pegs and remove it from the car.

Step 9: Reinstall The Bumper Cover

• Reverse the removal steps to reinstall the bumper securely and ensure all electrical connections and bolts are reattached.
