Since this kit removes the factory upper shock mount and upper spring perch, a rear coilover kit that does not use the OEM upper shock mount location is required. Please contact Detroit Speed directly for rear coilover applications.
Before fabrication, please be sure to disconnect all battery cables, remove the fuel tank/fuel lines, all of the interior, rear coil springs/shocks, and protect the glass.
With this Detroit Speed mini-tub kit, you will no longer be able to retain the factory rear suspension.
The factory shock mounts will be removed for installation.
LMR highly recommends professional installation only on this mini tub kit.
The rear seat brace will need to be removed, modified, and rewelded into place.
This kit will require the trunk hinges to be modified and rewelded into place.
Carpet & interior trim panels will need to be trimmed to fit these new mini tubs.

1979-1993 Fox Body Mustang Detroit Speed Mini Tub Kit

Accommodate wheels and tires up to 315mm wide in the back of your 1979-1993 Fox Body Mustang with Detroit Speed's Mini Tub kit! Engineered and designed here in the USA, these mini tubs are constructed from 18 gauge stamped steel for accurate bends and a deep wheel well curvature. Laser trimmed for smooth bends, these mini tubs will provide extra material if additional depth is desired for wheels and tires wider than 315mm. Detroit Speed specifically designed this kit to open up the rear wheel wells to allow further customization for aftermarket suspension and wheel-tire kits. Included in this kit are Detroit Speed's detailed installation instructions and cutout template to ease the welding & fabrication process on your Fox Body Mustang. To finish the installation of this kit, two rear seat belt relocation brackets, and the corresponding hardware is included to ensure your interior reassembles just like factory!
