The Driveshaft Shop 1-Piece Aluminum Driveshaft

Upgrade your weak and heavy, stock, 2-piece driveshaft. The Driveshaft Shop's 1-Piece driveshaft is the perfect upgrade for your S550 Mustang. It is lighter, stronger and will reduce rotating mass. This lightweight DSS driveshaft weighs in at 24 pounds and is balanced to 9500 RPM's. It's rated at 1,000 horsepower, so it will be able to handle whatever you want to throw at it!


If you have already lowered your 2015-2017 S550 Mustang, don't worry! This DSS driveshaft is 3.5" in diameter, giving you plenty of clearance needed to avoid interference with the undercarriage of your lowered Mustang.

Built To Last

The Driveshaft Shop has built this 3.5" driveshaft to handle anything and everything possible. It is built with 6061-T6 aluminum tubing and is rated for 3,450ft lbs of torque! This direct-fit rear CV driveshaft is made from 300M material and features a solid 1350 front spicer u-joint with flange to mate directly to the transmission and rear end.

Product Note

  • Emergency brake cable bracket clearance/ relocation may be necessary. Failure to check this clearance may damage the driveshaft and void the warranty.
  • If using solid rear IRS bushings and a one-piece driveshaft NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) will increase.

Disclaimer - Driveshaft Hardware

  • The 1979-2004 Mustang factory driveshaft bolts are installed using a thread locker chemical and are NOT torque to yield. If reusing the factory bolts, clean the old thread locker material from the threads, and apply new blue thread locker before reinstalling the bolts or use new driveshaft bolts and apply blue thread locker to threads and torque to the factory specifications. New bolts can be found here: HDW-4602.
  • For 2005-2021 Ford Mustangs, it is recommended that you install new driveshaft to pinion flange bolts when removing the driveshaft. The driveshaft to pinion flange bolts are torque to yield and should be torqued to 41ft-lbs.
