What Is An EGR System?
An EGR Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve recirculates a portion of an engine's exhaust gas back to the engine cylinders. This keeps your engine running efficiently while cutting down on exhaust emissions. These tubes usually do not require maintenance but can become clogged with carbon deposits, which could cause rough idle, decreased fuel mileage, overheating, and sometimes engine knock.
