1982-1993 Mustang HVAC Box Seal Kit Restore the HVAC box in your 1982-1993 Fox Body Mustang with this premium 5.0 Resto HVAC box seal kit! When replacing a heater core or blower motor in your Mustang, it is crucial to replace components that are worn, deteriorated, or falling apart. When removing and opening up the HVAC box, there are 3 serviceable foam seals. The first seal is located between the cowl & the plenum of the box itself. The last two seals are on both sides of the recirculating blend doors near the passenger side footwell. The HVAC box plenum to cowl foam serves an important role as this is the only component that seals the box to the cowl. If not replaced, this can create a void between the box and cowl, allowing air to escape into the dash area instead of diverting to the HVAC box. The provided recirculation blend door seals are primarily replaced for cosmetic purposes and eliminate the messy foam particles commonly found on the passenger-side floorboard for the ultimate peace of mind. To re-assemble the HVAC box and ensure a leak-free installation, 5.0 Resto provides high-temperature strip caulk to fill in the gap between the box's mating surfaces to seal it together.
