1982-93 MUSTANG 5.0 A/C COMPRESSOR CLUTCH
When diagnosing air conditioning problems in your Foxbody, checking the a/c compressor clutch is always a good start. The clutch is attached to the front of your compressor and engages the compressor when your a/c is turned on. The assembly houses the pulley that the accessory drive belt rides on. When these go bad, your clutch can chatter, clank, and make other various noises. The clutch will also not engage the compressor keeping your system from blowing cool air. This can easily be checked by watching the clutch while your a/c system is turned on.
