Brake Pad & Shoe KitRestore the stopping power of your 1987-1993 Mustang 5.0 with this set of factory replacement brake pads and shoe kit. Featuring a semi-metallic composition for higher heat resistance and improved cooling, these asbestos-free brake pads are manufactured using the same positive molding process utilized by original equipment suppliers. Positive molding uses extreme pressure to compress the friction material and bond it to the backing plate. This process assures consistent friction material density throughout the pad, resulting in even wear and performance characteristics throughout the brake material's life. Mechanically attached shims ensure proper fitment and virtually eliminate noise associated with pad vibration. A scorching process has been applied to these brake pads to force any impurities out of the friction material and to pre-burnish the pads to accelerate the break-in process greatly. Scorching promotes a more complete bed-in of new pads, increasing the effective stopping power from the first stop!
