1979-1986 Mustang Door Strikers
The Mustang door latch striker is the part that receives all of the abuse of constantly opening and closing the door. They can lose the striker bushing and become grooved from a misaligned door. Replacing the door latch striker offers better door alignment and fitment. We are proud to offer this 5.0 Resto latch striker for your 1979-86 Mustang. The latch striker bushing is pre-installed, so all you'll need to do is remove the old striker and install this new Mustang door latch striker, and you'll be good to go!
Installation Note
When uninstalling the old latch striker, the backing plate with integrated nut may fall back not allowing the threads to reengage when reinstalling. To help, place your hand behind the backing plate, bringing the gap between the plate and the latch sheet metal to a minimum, and then thread in the new latch striker.
