The door latch striker is the part that receives all the abuse of constantly opening and closing the door. They can lose the striker bushing and become grooved from a mis-aligned door. Upgrade Over OEM

I consider this Striker an upgrade over OEM because you can replace the striker bearing on it. Easy to install, cheaper than the OEM, and fast shipping. Door closes better than ever, a great addition to any door resto.
I've also done the door pins on mine so this was a nice finishing touch.

( Also just FYI, on my model at least 88 lx you don't have to worry about the inner nut falling into the door like some cars, so just take the old one off and put the new one on no worries, very easy install. Just might be a good idea to mark where the old striker was before you take it off)

Fits well, a little too big.

Purchased this around a month ago when I did my door pins. They screwed right in to my 1986 GT, but the nylon bushings seem a little too big. I don't have to slam the door shut, but it just makes a little too dense of a *clunk* when I shut it. Not a huge issue and I'm sure that I'm just overthinking it, but it's there nonetheless. The other issue I had with the hinges was the box said it was for '87+, so I freaked out a little when I went to put it on my '86. They fit, however, so no issue there.

Great new pins

Perfect fit and easy to change. The doors are a little tight after replacing , but I believe the mechanism probably could use a good cleaning worse case maybe some wear in on the plastic stricker. the new pins eliminated the drivers door rattle and passengers door "double latch" were both taken care of. Installation is a breeze I would suggest tracing the originals with a Sharpie prior to replacing to help align the door.

Works perfectly but needs a better coating.

Good quality replacement. Only issue is the finish. I'm on my second set in 3 years. Its parkerized not painted. While its how it came from the factory, the coating isn't nearly as good and it will start to rust pretty badly after a few months. Disassembly is easy enough to give it a coat of semi gloss or flat paint to prevent the problem.

great replacement

I own an old foxbody. A 1988 lx. The strikers that came on the car are not serviceable. To replace the bushing would require one to slit the bushing length wise to get it on. It works but it a bandaid fix. These are price lower enough to make them a great alternative to the problem. They work just as the origonal did.

The overall length is too short.

The bolt it's self was two short, even after trying to shim it (a lot) the door latch hits the head of the bolt instead of the covered plastic body. Absolute nightmare to try and open once the door is shut. Spend the extra money and get the OEM door latch strikers.

My door striker bushing was getting worn and my door wouldn't close properly and the body lines wouldn't line up. Put this striker on and now closes great and the body lines are flawless. Great cheap fix

My passenger door rattled like crazy put this thing on rattling went away and the door seals up like new. Kinda hard to open now but once it wears in will work perfectly.

the striker back plate is too weak and bent out of shape when installing had to take the plastic bushing out and reuse original part.
