Restore the exterior of your Fox Mustang with these 1985-1986 Mustang GT front-of-quarter panel moldings! These moldings usually shrink over time due to exposure to the elements or become wrinkled and are unable to be straightened back out due to the metal banding that was inside from the factory. Daniel Carpenter Reproductions offers these replacement driver and passenger side front of quarter panel molding that replaces your factory molding to properly restore the look of your GT back to showroom new.

Daniel Carpenter Quality
This front-quarter panel molding is built with molded urethane and infused with a metal strip to provide added strength. The new molding has the specific recessed C-channel for the accent stripe at the very front. The front of the molding has a straight edge to match up with the rear of the door molding, while the rear of the molding has a curved edge that matches the shape of the quarter panel wheel opening. 3M double-sided tape is pre-installed on the back of the molding to secure the molding in place after prep and paint.

On urethane and fiberglass body parts, due to the manufacturing process, it is common to see irregular surface patterns, sanding, buffing, and mold release marks on products. These marks are normal and will not be present once the product has been sanded, prepped, and painted to match your vehicle.

Fits 1985-86 Mustang GT

Molding Prep & Paint

Due to the manufacturing process, this molding must be sanded, prepped, and painted to match your Fox Body before installation.
Sand with 400 Grit or Gray Scuff pad then clean well.
Apply a coat of plastic adhesion promoter(Bulldog or SEM is recommended). Allow to dry for 5 minutes, then apply a second coat.
Let dry for 15 minutes no longer than 30 minutes before top coating.
Paint with a flexible primer surface(Sem 39133 recommended).
Once dry scuff with 320 or 400 grit sandpaper, then clean thoroughly with wax and grease remover before applying top coat.
If using an acrylic or polyurethane paint, then a flex agent must be added.

The best way to get a quality paint job is to take off these moldings to get proper paint coverage throughout. High Quality Construction
Compiled in this kit is every molding needed to replace your factory body side moldings. The rear of fender moldings, door moldings, and front of quarter panel moldings are built with a molded urethane that provides added strength so the factory metal bands are no longer needed. These moldings have 3M double-sided tape pre-installed on the back of the molding to secure the molding in place after prep and paint. The front of fender and rear of quarter panel moldings are built with a molded plastic construction. These moldings have integrated plastic studs on the backside that secure the molding to the fender and quarter panel with the included pal nuts. Each molding has the GT specific recessed C-channel for the accent stripe running from the front of the molding to the rear. You won't find a better kit to restore the original styling of your GT Fox Body!
