Fitment Notice
  • Fits 1979-1993 Mustang 5.0/5.8
  • Not recommended for competition use.
  • Jamb nuts are not include in this kit for stud installation, You will need to use two 3/8-24 nuts to install.
  • We recommend a small amount Loctite on the stud portion that goes into the cylinder head on installation. 
  • Accepts 5/16 pushrods only. Can be used with stock non-hardened pushrods, Hardened pushrods are not required.
  • Can use any Ford-specific 3/8 roller rocker arm, such as SCP-1017, SCP-1019, or CCA-1704316
  • Can be used on stock or aftermarket 5/16 pedestal mount/bolt-down rocker heads.
  • Conversion to stud mount rockers will require clearancing of stock aluminum covers or changing to a taller valve cover.  Valve cover spacer kit SVE-6582SPCR-K can be used to retain stock aluminum or stamped valve covers but may require an intake spacer on stock applications.
  • LMR.com recommends using a pushrod checking tool to ensure proper pushrod length after installation.

Stud Mount Rocker Arm Conversion - 3/8" - 5.0/5.8
With this conversion kit, you can quickly change the 5/16 pedestal mount rocker arms on your 1979–1993 Fox Body Mustang 5.0 or 5.8 to a stronger 3/8 stud mount. Upgrading to a 3/8 stud mount rocker arm adds stability to your valvetrain and opens up more rocker arm choices. You can transform your heads to an adjustable-type valvetrain using this stud mount rocker arm conversion without the need for machining or removing the cylinder heads. Each of these kits includes guide plates, guide plate inserts, studs, and guide plate channels. These kits are great for mild-performance engine builds using hydraulic lifters or hydraulic roller camshafts.
