1986-1995 Mustang SVE Terminator X Idle Air Control Motor Upgrade

Upgrade the idle performance of your Terminator X ECU-equipped 1986-1995 Mustang 5.0/5.8 with the SVE Idle Air Control (IAC) Motor Upgrade Kit. The factory IAC motor was marginal even when paired with the stock ECU and was prone to failure, often causing rough idle, poor drivability, and inconsistent engine performance. When combined with an aftermarket ECU like the Holley Terminator X, the aging factory IAC can become even more difficult to control, making idle tuning frustrating. The SVE IAC upgrade kit replaces the outdated factory unit with a modern Ford IAC motor, providing more precise idle control and making it easier to fine-tune idle quality and overall drivability. Each kit includes the upgraded IAC motor, a pre-terminated wiring harness, a new gasket, and the correct mounting hardware to make installation as straightforward as possible.

At the core of the kit is SVE's pre-terminated wiring harness, designed specifically for Holley Terminator X applications. The harness plugs directly into the new IAC motor and features the correct Super Seal-style terminals for the Terminator X ECU connector, eliminating the need to cut, splice, or re-pin any wiring. Constructed with high-quality wiring, heavy-duty insulation, protective wire loom, and a factory-style IAC connector, the harness delivers a clean, reliable installation. The IAC is designed as a direct-fit solution; the updated IAC features the correct mounting flange for your intake manifold, so it requires no modifications for installation. To complete the conversion, SVE also includes a new IAC gasket and the correct-length mounting bolts, ensuring everything needed for a hassle-free installation is in the box.

What Is An Idle Air Control Motor?
The idle air control motor, also known as the idle air control valve, is the solenoid that bolts to the throttle body and controls idle changes based on engine load. When an IAC motor starts to malfunction, it can cause a check engine light, rough idle, decrease in fuel mileage, and poor running conditions.
