  • This driveshaft measures 43.5" from center hole to center hole.
Fitment Notice
  • Fits 1979-1993 Mustang w/ pushrod 5.0 applications utilizing the 2003-2004 Cobra T56 transmission with a standard 27 spline output shaft and a solid rear axle.
  • Fits 1979-1993 Mustang w/ mod motor or coyote swap applications utilizing the 2003-2004 Cobra T56 transmission with a standard 27 spline output shaft and a solid rear axle.
  • Will not fit with IRS swaps.
  • The 1979-2004 Mustang factory driveshaft bolts are installed using a thread locker chemical and are NOT torque to yield. If reusing the factory bolts, clean the old thread locker material from the threads, and apply new blue thread locker before reinstalling the bolts or use new driveshaft bolts and apply blue thread locker to threads and torque to the factory specifications. New bolts can be found here: HDW-4602.
Additional Installation Note
  • Clearance between the mufflers/exhaust and driveshaft needs to be verified regardless of ride height, and it needs to be checked with the suspension compressed (car at ride height).
  • 1993-2004 Mustangs will sometimes have interference issues between the driveshaft and the front parking brake cable bracket that is spot-welded to the underside of the transmission tunnel. Sometimes, the spot welds break, and the bracket will make contact with the driveshaft. Lowered ride height will make this issue worse. The bracket can be trimmed slightly for more clearance. If the spot welds have broken, they MUST be repaired to rectify the situation.

This SVE driveshaft is engineered and manufactured with precision and high-quality components. Assembled with Alcoa 6061-T6 3.5" aluminum tubing, 1330 series Spicer high-performance universal joints, and American-made flanges, this driveshaft will be sure to impress. With a .114" wall thickness; this driveshaft is rated up to 5,000 pound-ft. in torsional yield and 13,900 RPM for critical speed. Fully mig welded using an Autoweld welder on Shaftmasters machines for superior welds. High-speed balancing further reduces driveline vibration and improves overall ride quality!

  • Designed for converting to a T56 from a 2003-2004 Cobra Only with a standard 27 spline output shaft in your 1979-1993 Mustang.
  • Will NOT fit T56 Magnum or Magnum XL
  • Will NOT fit 03-04 Cobra-style pinion flange with 1350 u-joints
