Team Z Matrix Tubular K-Member - Modular/Coyote

Easily swap in a modular 4.6L or 5.0L Coyote-based motor into your 1979-1993 Mustang with this black hammertone Team Z tubular k-member. This lightweight k-member directly replaces your factory member, bolting into all factory mounting points. Not only do tubular k-members drop a lot of weight, they also stiffen up your chassis and give you more clearance in your engine bay. Includes motor mount pads for modular-style motor mounts.

Application

  • 1979-1993 Ford Mustangs with 4.6L 2V/3V/4V, 5.4L 2V/3V/4V, and 5.8L 4V modular based engines
  • 1979-1993 Ford Mustangs with 5.0L DOHC and 5.2L DOHC coyote based engines

Required Parts:

  • Team Z tubular control arms are required to complete installation. Stock and other brand control arms are not compatible with this k-member.
  • Requires the use of coil-overs.
  • Requires the use of caster camber plates
  • 1979-1984 Mustang will be required to use 85-04 rack bushings.

Applications And Fitment Notes:

  • Factory and aftermarket engine mounts may have alignment pins that can cause fitment issues. Removal of the alignment pin might be necessary for correct mating of engine mount to k-member.
  • Clunks, squeaks, and pops can be normal occurrences with coil-over setups
  • Coil-over conversion may reduce the area between the strut and wheel. High positive offset wheels or wide wheels may have clearance issues between wheels/tires and coil-over setup.
  • Depending on your vehicle, modification of the stock steering shaft or a low-profile steering shaft may be required.
