Minimize excess rotational mass in your drivetrain by swapping your heavy stock flywheel for this stronger, lightweight aluminum flywheel from McLeod! Machined from 6061 T6 aluminum, this 15-pound flywheel is lighter and stronger than your stock steel flywheel and is ideal for high horsepower and high RPM applications. Reducing the flywheel rotational mass will cause less wear and tear on your drivetrain while increasing its overall reliability. Featuring a replaceable steel friction plate and a 164 tooth 1045 steel hardened ring gear, this aluminum flywheel from McLeod is exactly the flywheel that you need for your Mustang drivetrain project!

  • This Flywheel does not come with dowel pins or hardware unless otherwise noted.

Billet Aluminum vs Steel
Steel flywheels are recommended for use on street and drag strip applications that need extra inertia to help you get off the line.

Aluminum flywheels are recommended for the following:

  • Road race applications that want instant acceleration out of the corners.

  • 4.30 or lower gears that keep your engine in the upper RPM range.
