Prothane Upper Strut Mount Bushing Kit
We recommend installing a new set of urethane upper strut mount bushings in your 1983-2004 Ford Mustang any time you replace the front struts as long as you are not using aftermarket caster camber plates. Urethane strut mount bushings deflect less for better handling and are firm enough to control movement and maintain alignment in suspension components without the harshness or resonance associated with solid metal suspension bushings. Urethane resists oil and temperature changes for longer life. This 1983-2004 Ford Mustang Prothane bushing kit does both front struts.

Installation Note
Does not fit 1984-1986 SVO. 1983-1993 Fox Body Mustang owners will have to modify their upper metal retainer in order for this kit to work. It may be necessary to use a wire wheel to clean all bonded material from the metal surface.

Adding a set of lowering springs to any Mustang is a must! Not only do you get the benefits of better handling but you also get rid of that 4x4 stance that comes on all factory Mustangs. Lifted or lowered suspensions, increases in horsepower, plus-size wheels and tires can subject traditional rubber suspension bushings to forces beyond their limits. Control arms, strut arms, leaf springs, body mounts, motor mounts, transmission mounts, sway bars and shocks all control movement and maintain alignment but the rubber bushings they use are designed for more "middle of the road" use. Rubber also deteriorates over time, further reducing control. This contributes to premature component failure, a "spongy" ride and less than ideal performance handling. Urethane bushings can correct these conditions, and improve drivability in your Mustang or Ford Lightning.
