Cut & Clamp Design
The 2005-2010 Mustang's OEM catalytic converters are actually pretty good high flow cats. Rather than make you replace brand new ones, this specially made performance X-pipe crossover can be added to your existing OEM catted downpipes by cutting the downpipes in the appropriate spot and slipping this X-pipe over the existing pipes. Clamps and instructions are provided.
Pypes Mustang X-Pipe Science
Since Mustang V8’s fire unevenly, exhaust gasses exit in pulses rather than a steady flow. While one pipe is filled with pressure the other pipe is relatively pressureless but the connecting of the two pipes in a siamese pattern allows pressure to be released to the other side. This action allows the exhaust to pass through the pipe quicker and this better ‘breathing’ increases horsepower.
Installation Note
THIS IS A SPLICE IN X PIPE. CUSTOMER WILL HAVE TO CUT FACTORY H-PIPE.
