1979-93 Mustang Fox Body Front & Rear Glass Removal Instructions

The front and rear glass on Fox Body Mustangs can be very intimidating to replace. Not only are they fragile, but they also require meticulous steps to get them removed correctly. In this install, Landan and Jourdan walk you through each step of removing the front and rear glass on 1979-1993 Mustangs.

Tools Required:

• Heavy Duty Wire Or String
• Soapy Water
• Utility Knife
• Suction Cup Tool (Optional)

Removal Steps (Front & Rear Glass)

1. Tape Around The Glass To Protect Your Paint
   
   
   
   
   
2. Use Wire To Saw Away At Butyl
   • Poke Wire Through Butyl.
   • Using A Sawing Motion, Go Back And Forth To Cut Seperate Butyl.
   • If You Hit A Glass Stop, Pull The Wire Out And Poke Back Through After Stop
   • Do The Same For Any Defrost Connections
     
     
     
     
3. Remove Glass
   • Using The Suction Cup Tool And The Help Of A Friend, Carefully Remove The Glass.
     
     
     
     
4. Remove Excess Butyl
   • Use A Utlitiy Knife and Carefully Remove All Of The Excess Butyl From The Channel
   
   
   
   
   
5. Remove Front & Rear Glass Clips
   
   
   
   

Important Notes:
Be Careful Around Dash, A Pillar Trims
Having A Friend Will Make This Much Easier To Saw Through The Butyl
