Removing the seats in your Fox Body Mustang is a key part of many installations which include carpet and upholstery installs. Removal of your seats is actually a simple procedure. Follow along in the video as Jmac show you how to take the seat of Coupe, Hatchback and Convertible Fox Mustangs.

We get quite a few inquiries about how to remove the seats out of your fox mustang front seats are pretty easy but most of the questions revolve around the back seats. Especially for an 83-93 hatchback. I'm going to show you just how easy it is take the seats out of your mustang. First thing you want to do is get your seats out of the car starting with the front.

Remove your front seat foot covers use a fifteen millimeter (15mm) ratchet to remove the two retaining nuts. Then slide the seat forward lean the seatback forward removed the two fifteen millimeter (15mm) bolts. Lift the seat up. Unplug the power seat track if equipped as well as the power lumbar and remove the seat from the vehicle. Repeat the same steps on the other side.

To remove the rear seat apply pressure from the front of the seat toward the back and lift upward. That will release the retaining clips on the bottom. Remove the rear seat bottom from the car. Lower the rear seat backs down. You’ve got three 1/2 inch bolts on each side. Remove those bolts and you can fold the bracket out of the way and slide the rear seat back off of the center pivot.

Repeat this for both sides. And that's it. All you need is just common hand tools in a few minutes of your time. For you coupe & convertible owners you actually have it just a little bit easier. The rear seat bottoms come out the exact same way as the hatch. For coupe owners once you get that bottom out of the way, you'll see two screws holding down lower tabs on that rear seat back. Pull the screws out and lift up on the seat back.

For convertible owners, once that seat bottom is out of the way. Pull on the lower portion of the seat back and push down on the top and this will release the retaining tabs. Now for more mustang parts tech and how to check out LatemodelRestoration.com
