The Mustang Oil Pump Sending Unit varies the resistance on the ground side of the Oil Pressure Gauge, based on Oil Pressure, giving you a close to accurate gauge reading. Carbon deposits & sludge build up in the Oil Pressure Sending Unit over time causing inaccurate Oil Pressure Gauge readings or no reading at all.
