SVE has adapted to find new ways to bring parts back that fell victim to discontinuations such as the popular 93 Cobra/Turbo Coupe disc brake conversion. This kit features brand new 1994-2004 Cobra-style rear calipers that will provide the same great braking performance the previous kits had. In order for the new calipers to be mounted up correctly, we include the correct brake caliper adapter brackets that complement the new caliper and 10.5" rear rotors. Hub-centric rings allow the re-drilled SN95 10.5" rear rotors to properly center the rotor on your existing Fox Body axles. These parts are supported and held securely in place by the long list of components we include which are detailed further down the description. It's hard to beat a period-correct upgrade all while retaining an OE look which is what the SVE 4 lug disc brake conversion kit is designed to do!
First off, we would like to go over the parking brake modifications. For all 1987-1993 owners, you will need to complete this procedure on your vehicle when doing this disc brake conversion. All 1979-1986 Mustangs do not need to do this task due to the factory parking brake handle design. For an easy how-to on this procedure, you can check out our dedicated article below showing you an easy step-by-step guide.
Next, you can follow our Mustang 4-Lug Rear Disc Brake Conversion guide to show you all of the detailed steps for the installation of this kit. There will be some slight changes between the old kit and the new kit, but we do recommend going over this article and video before going into the updated kit. This will go into detail on the general disassembly and modifications required for this procedure.
Now that you have the basics down, we can go into detail on SVE's updated kit. The video link below will cover the updates that have been made to the new kit compared to the older design. This will include the new wheel studs, 79-86 line modifications, new caliper and adapter design, and hub-centric rings for the axles.
