How To Fix S550 Mustang Front Bumper Sag

Reattach the broken front bumper tabs on your 2015-2017 S550 Mustang by installing SVE's front bumper repair kit! From the factory, your Mustang's front bumper cover was secured on each side by flimsy plastic tabs. After numerous removals of the front bumper, these tabs begin to weaken and break off. This poor design led to a major complication where the bumper tabs would 'pop' out on each side, causing an unsightly fitment between the fender and the front bumper. To resolve this troublesome issue, SVE has developed a cost effective repair kit to avoid the body shop while simplifying the removal and installation of the front bumper.

Installation Instructions

Step 1: Prep The Vehicle

• Lift the vehicle using a lift or jack and jack stands, then remove the front tires.
  
  

Step 2: Remove The Splash Shield

• Remove the 8mm bolt, 4 lower push pins, and peel back the shield.
  
  

Step 3: Detach The Bumper Bracket

• Remove the 7mm bolt inside the fender and 2x 8mm bolts holding the bracket.

Step 4: Modify The Bracket

• Drill a pilot hole above the rectangular opening, then use a step bit to drill it up to ¾". Clean up any flash from drilling.
  
  

Step 5: Install The Stud

• Assemble the stud from the bumper repair kit and insert it through the drilled hole and rectangular opening on the fender.
  
  

Step 6: Align The Bumper

• Use painters tape to mark where to drill a pilot hole on the bumper, then drill and step up to ¾". Clean up the hole and insert the push button.

Step 7: Adjust & Tighten

• Snap the button onto the stud, adjust for proper fitment, then tighten down all nuts and bolts.

Step 8: Reassemble

• Reinstall the bumper bracket bolts, splash shield push pins and bolts, then reinstall and torque the wheels to spec.
