5.0 Resto Mustang Frame Rail Air Deflectors.
Restore your 1979-1993 Mustang's engine bay with a set of Fox Body frame rail air deflectors. These deflectors are located under the fender aprons behind the radiator and are often damaged or missing. 5.0 Resto has recognized this problem and offers a complete frame rail air deflector kit to restore your engine bay back to its factory glory. These deflectors are made of high-quality OE style plastic for a durable construction. Each kit comes with a left hand and right-hand deflector and the 8 needed push pins to make the install a breeze.

How’s it going everyone? Landan with lmr.com! In this video, I’m going to be taking a quick look at these 5.0 Resto frame rail splash shields or also referred to as air deflectors for the 1979 to 1993 Fox Mustang.
These splash shields are located underneath the front frame rail and their job is relatively simple… keep out dirt, mud, and other forms of debris from slinging up into the engine.
It seems like every Fox Mustang we bring through our shop doesn’t have these or they’re broken… which is probably the case for other Fox Body owners.
This kit from 5.0 Resto is constructed from OE grade plastic and incorporate the same factory cutouts and provisions as the factory one’s did.
Now, as far as installing these splash shields, all you’ll need to do is support the front of the car with jack stands.
If your old ones are still in place, simply dislodge the push pins with a push pin removal tool, and remove the old splash shields.
Pass the new one over the sway bar, align each hole with the correct retaining point in the frame rail and then install the provided push pins.
Repeat this for the other side and you’re good to go.
I don’t know about you guys, but these simple restorations parts from 5.0 Resto always make me feel like valid a contributor to preserving the almighty Fox Mustang.
These frame rail splash shields are no exception to that feeling and are an absolute must have for your Fox Body restoration project.
