How To Install Fox Body Mustang Center Console & Hinge Cover Access Plugs | 87-93

In this article we will be covering how to prep and install both the center console and armrest hinge cover access plugs for your Fox Body Mustang.

Center Console Plugs

Before starting, if you plan on painting these covers we recommend buying the Smoke Grey Plugs as this simulates a good generic primer to use to paint over.

1. Start by scuffing with a light duty scuff pad.



2. Wipe down with a plastic safe wax and grease remover.



3. We start by painting the underside first and you will need to hold the can 6-8” from the plug to get the best spray. Apply a light 1st coat and wait 5-10 min before performing the 2nd coat. Wait at least 1 hour to dry.



4. Now do the same process for the top of the covers.



5. Once the covers are dry you can begin the install by first removing the old ones. This is done by bringing the plug away from the console with your fingernail and dislodging with a plastic pry tool.



6. Now you can install the new plugs by simply pressing them into the opening and you’re all done!

Armrest Hinge Cover Plugs
