Mustang Dash Speaker Grille Kit.
Restore the interior of your Fox with superior-quality restoration items from 5.0 Resto! Interior plastics become brittle over the years due to overexposure of damaging UV rays. This is especially true when it comes to the dashboard speaker grilles that are magnified under the windshield of Mustangs left outside. The thin lines of plastic that cover your dashboard speakers are usually the first to go, and when they do they can break off into the dash as well as potentially damage your speakers. Now you can replace your broken dash speaker grilles with this direct replacement 1987-1993 Mustang dash speaker grille kit!
5.0 Resto Superior Quality.
5.0 Resto products are designed and manufactured with OEM fit and finish in mind, and these dash speaker grilles are no exception. With the help of computer-aided design (CAD), these grilles feature the factory dimensions and mounting points for a direct replacement installation. Factory style grain and texture are applied to closely match the rest of your interior. Each grille is molded in black plastic that will need to be painted to match your interior color. An (LH) and (RH) designation is found on the back of the specified grille to make installation a breeze. New rubber bumpers are included to ensure the grilles don't rattle, and all new attaching clips are included to ensure the grilles stay in place.
Installation Notes:
- You must re-use each T20 Torx screw that secures each grille on from the side of the dash.
- The included curved clip will attach to the driver's side lower clip location.

In today’s video, I’m going to be taking a look at this dash speaker grille kit for the 1987 to 1993 Fox Mustangs from industry leader 5.0 Resto.
These were added to the 5.0 Resto line-up for the obvious reasons; the factory grilles are typically faded from years of sun exposure, they’re missing and/or probably broken.
When 5.0 Resto took to the drawing boards to manufacture their dash speaker grilles, they did so by utilizing CAD software so that they can produce part that features a factory-like fit and finish.
Each speaker grille is molded from durable black plastic and incorporates the factory style grain and texture.
On the back will be accurately placed mounted tabs and alignment dowels to ensure that each grille is installs just like they did from the factory
Now what you’re going to get in the kit is obviously a driver and passenger side speaker grille that are marked with an LH and RH for side designation.
But being a simple part, you’ll know right away if you have the correct side or not.
All needed retaining clips will be included as well as 4 large anti-rattle bumpers and 6 small anti-rattle bumpers.
The only factory component that will need to be reused are the weird retaining screws that secure the grilles to the dash.
Other than that, depending on the interior color of your car, you may have to paint these to match.
If you have to, be sure and pick up some of our interior paint. You’ll want to lightly scuff the grilles with the least aggressive Scotch-brite pad, wipe them down with isopropyl alcohol, and then paint them. Remember to paint the bottom first, then the top. Because of the black plastic finish, 2 to 3 coats maybe needed.
Installing these grilles is very easy…
Open the door and locate the driver-side speaker grille retaining screw.
Remove this screw with either a T20 torx bit or 7mm socket.
Carefully pry up on the grille to release the clips.
Tilt the grille at an angle and then remove it from the car.
Take this time to clean the area.
Remove the passenger side cover; you can simply pull straight up on this one since you don’t have to work around the cluster surround.
Flip the 5.0 Resto speaker grilles overs on a work bench.
Notice the locating dowels on each grille; do not put a rubber bumper on these dowels
Starting with the driver-side grille or the one marked (LH), install 2 of the large bumpers onto the tall pegs
Install 3 of the smaller bumpers onto the short pegs
Go ahead and do this for the passenger-side speaker grille which is marked with an (RH)
Install the provided metal clips
The weird shaped clip will install onto the lower tab on the driver-side grille
The curvature on this clip will face toward the cluster once installed
Install 1 of the normal clips onto the upper tab
The passenger-side will have two normal clips on each tab
Each speaker grille is now ready to be installed into the car
I’ll be installing the driver side first; tilt it at an angle and then drop it down into position
Carefully seat the tabs and then retighten the retaining screw.
Do the same for the passenger side.
After that, you’re good to go.
As far as installation goes fellas, it’s a walk in the park. The overall fit and finish of these 5.0 Resto dash speaker grilles in right on the money.
Even the black finish was a great match with interior of our 1990 two-tone Fox.
So if you’re in the middle of your restoration project or you already own a nice Fox Body that may need new speaker grilles; this kit from 5.0 Resto is a must have.
