Some key fitment notes that you will want to keep in mind is that there will be two different series available for anybody that owns an 87-04 Mustang. 58 series and 59 series batteries can be used in these cars, and the main difference between them is that a 59 series battery is a tad bigger than a 58. You can more than likely glance at the top of your battery and find a model or part number concerning the series. Another significant fitment concern is for all S197 05-14 owners. All 2005-2014 Mustangs used a 96 series battery. The only difference was the way Ford provisioned the positive and negative cables. 2005-2009 Mustangs had cables that ran to the firewall, whereas 2010-2014 Mustangs had cables navigated near the strut tower brace. So keep that info in mind whenever you plan on picking one up.
