How To Remove Fox Body Gauge Cluster | 87-93

Please Note: 87-89 models had (3) screws that secured the upper and lower steering column covers and 90-93 only had (2) screws.

REMOVAL STEPS

1. Remove the screws that retain the upper and lower column shroud then remove the shroud.




2. Under the dash loosen and remove the (3) 8mm retaining bolts.





3. To remove the lower dash panel, pull straight out in one fluid motion. This will dislodge the clips from the metal support plate.



4. Loosen and remove the (2) 8mm bolts that secures the metal plate and lower portion of the instrument bezel (please make sure you hold the bracket with one hand when unscrewing to avoid it falling).



5. Loosen and remove the small T20 or 7mm screw from the right-hand side of the instrument bezel.



6. Locate the (2) plastic tabs tucked behind the hazard switch. Carefully depress these clips with a small screwdriver while gently pulling out on the switch.



7. Once the switch is removed from the instrument bezel, carefully dislodge the clips that secures each electrical connection.



8. Set this switch aside and do the same for the headlight switch on the left-hand side of the bezel.



9. Tuck the wires into the bezel and then remove it from the car.



10. Loosen and remove the (4) T20 or 7mm screws that secures the instrument cluster to the dash.






11. Bring the cluster forward to expose as much of the backside as possible and push the speedo cable toward the cluster while depressing the white clip to remove it from the shaft.



12. Squeeze the tabs on both electrical connections to remove them from the back of the cluster.




13. Remove the cluster and you’re all done!
