Tools Required:

• 12 Point Socket, or Box End Wrench
• Two Jack Stands
• Small Prybar
• Plastic Bag/Drain Pan
• Towels
• Lock Tite (Optional)

Installation Instructions

1. Raise and Support the Vehicle
   • Lift the rear end of the car using a jack and securely support it with jack stands.
     
     
     
     
2. Remove the Existing Driveshaft
   • Locate and remove the four bolts securing the driveshaft to the differential companion flange using a 12-point socket.
   • To hold the driveshaft steady while loosening the bolts, insert a large screwdriver or small pry bar through the rear U-joint.
   • Once the bolts are removed, drop the flange end down and carefully pull the driveshaft toward the rear of the vehicle to disengage it from the transmission.
   • Be cautious not to damage the transmission splines during removal.
     
     
     
     
3. Prevent Fluid Loss
   • Wrap a plastic bag tightly around the transmission extension housing to prevent fluid leakage..
   • Place a drain pan underneath the rear of the transmission to catch any fluid and keep the work area clean.
     
     
     
     
4. Inspect Before Installation
   • Before installing the new driveshaft, inspect it for any defects or damage.
   • Check the rear differential and transmission for any signs of leaks.
     
     
5. Install the New Driveshaft
   • Slide the front of the new driveshaft into the transmission extension housing, turning the shaft gently until the splines are fully seated.
   • Rotate the rear wheels if needed to align the holes between the driveshaft and the differential flange.
   • Apply a small amount of blue Loctite to the four bolts, then secure the driveshaft to the differential.
     
     
     
     
6. Clean Up
   • Use towels to wipe away any transmission fluid that may have spilled during the removal and installation process, especially around the transmission and differential areas.
     
     
     
     
7. Lower the Vehicle
   • Once everything is secure and clean, carefully lower the car back down to the ground.
