From the factory, the 4.6 4V engine was equipped with an engine oil cooler that was attached to the oil filter adapter. This cooler utilized engine coolant to cool down the temperature of the engine oil. After years of service and abuse, the o-rings that seal this unit together will wear out, causing oil to seep past the o-rings resulting in oil and coolant mixing together.
