What's up everybody? Dustin here with LMR.com! Today we're taking a look at how to replace the kick panels in your 1983-1993 Fox Body Mustang with these Ford originals that are PERFECT for restoring life into your Mustang's interior!
These kick panels are made from the original ford tooling, and are a direct replacement for your cracked, faded, or even missing kick panels. This kick panel kit is offered in either a black, or a smoke grey textured finish to perfectly match your Fox Body interior color! These kick panels are made right here in the USA, and fit all 1983-1993 Fox Body Coupes, and Hatches. To install these kick panels is super simple, and should take you no longer than 30 to 45 minutes complete with nothing more than a Phillips head screwdriver, and a push pin removal tool.
You'll want to start by removing the 4 Phillips head screws in your scuff plate.
Once that's done, grab your push pin removal tool, and remove the single push pin from your kick panel.
After that, gently lift up, and back down to release the kick panel from the retaining push pins. Now you should be able to remove the kick panel from the car.
With your new kick panel, starting with the top feed it into the A-pillar trim, and push back down on to the retaining pins to secure it to the car.
If you're missing any of this hardware, this would be a great time to pick up one of our complete kick panel hardware kits.
With the kick panel in place, reinstall the single push pin, and tighten down the 4 Phillips head screws holding the scuff plate in place.
Guys, this is about as easy as it comes. With the use of a few hand tools and about 30 minutes of your time, you're one step closer to restoring the interior of your fox body.
