*Please note: These speaker grilles come in a neutral gray color as a primer so we recommend buying at least 2 cans of paint so that you can paint to match the interior.*
REMOVAL
Remove the (2) phillips head screws. Noticed that our passenger side speak grill had separated into 2 pieces which is completely normal.
Disconnect the speaker and set aside.
Use this time to thoroughly clean the outside area. We use a soft bristle brush and automotive cleaner to make this happen.
Flip the grille over and wipe the outside edges with wax and grease remover also.
Before painting make sure you paint in a well light and ventilated area.
Paint the underside first with a few light coats by making overlapping passes with medium arm speed. Allow 5-10 minutes for each coat to tack up.
Once you are satisfied with the coverage allow at least 1 hour before painting the top side.
Flip the speaker grilles to the top side and repeat the same steps, but ensure that you have complete and even coverage. We recommending waiting a full day before installation.
INSTALL
Position the speaker onto the grille and install the (4) retaining screws by hand. Because of the molded plastic, the screws will be cutting their own thread.
Reconnect the electrical connection.
Install the speaker grille into the interior rear quarter panel.
Align the holes and install the (2) provided phillips head screws.
Use these same steps for the other side and you’re all done!
