For this dyno article, we will cover our 1987 GT convertible LMR shop car. This 100% factory Mustang is the first one we have had an opportunity to test with an AOD automatic transmission. Check out below for more pics, dyno technical data, and the dyno results!

Dyno Technical Data

  • Factory Turbine 15" Wheel With a 225/60/15 Tire
  • AOD 4-Speed Transmission So Dyno Pull Will Be Made In 3rd Gear (1:1 ratio)
  • 3.08 Rear-End Gear
  • Steel OEM Driveshaft
  • 93 Octane Fuel
  • Stock Fuel System
  • Stock Exhaust
  • OEM Ford 5.0L Longblock

Dyno Results

Here are the results! This car made 188 horsepower at 4300 RPM and 260 lb/ft of torque at 3100 RPM. Compared to some of the other 5-speed cars we have dynoed in the past, these numbers are not far off, even with the AOD automatic transmission.
