Accufab has developed a high flow throttle body and power inlet for the 2003-2004 Cobra. Accufab's throttle body flows 1696 cfm compared to stock 1089 cfm. Our engineers tested the stock inlet or elbow and noticed that it's design was too restrictive to accept the additional airflow our throttle body moves. Hence, we developed an aftermarket performance inlet which allows the air to flow on a straighter path directly into the intake, accounting for the major increase in performance.
Furthermore, the throttle body and power inlet combination, dyno testing has shown an increase of 10 horsepower by 2000 RPM, all the way up to 25 horsepower improvement at 6400 RPM. This is rear wheel horsepower. Torque also improved dramatically across the complete power range.
If you have a Kenne Bell or Whipple supercharger with a mono-blade opening, you should order the throttle body only. We do not recommend using the throttle body only with the stock inlet because of the airflow restrictions explained above. Also, the throttle body has an air passage slot machined within the wall and continuing to the backside of the part for idle air control purposes. The slot matches up exactly with the idle air control area on the power inlet when mounted together.
The throttle body is top quality billet aluminum and precision CNC machined to our engineering specifications. It is only available with a high polished finish. Accufab's power inlet is cast aluminum and CNC machined.
This Accufab throttle body includes the inlet to be used with the stock Eaton supercharger.
