Increase horsepower while opening up your exhaust by adding these 2011-2016 Mustang V6 BBK shorty headers. These headers replace your stock manifolds and feature wider, smoother runners to flow more exhaust. When you are able to put more exhaust out, you increase horsepower and fuel mileage. Installation is easy with the included header gaskets and hardware. Pick up your shorty headers today and maximize the potential of your Mustang!
You're going to have a decision to make when it comes to selecting a new set of headers for your Mustang… shorty or long tubes. Well, I'm going to go ahead and put it out there before we get into the differences, that long tubes do make more power and torque versus a shorty header. So why would anybody ever purchase a ... more
I ordered these about a week ago for my 2012 3.7L Mustang. I got them in just a couple of days - super fast! I was surprised at the increased mid-range and high end improvements in performance. I had just previously installed the BBK 73mm throttle body, which had improved my low end torque, I am very pleased.
Installation: read the instructions. The next-to-last stud/nut on the passenger side needs to get started before you tighten anything down on that side. I used a half-inch ratcheting combination wrench and a very long (2ft) screwdriver to keep the wrench engaged, for most of the nuts. The fit and finish is great. Yes, I do recommend these, and this is a great place to get them - my thanks to Jay Walling.

BBK has had a good reputation for many years. What made this purchase even better was going through LMR for the purchase. These guys and their shipping is second to none. I was jacked around for 2 weeks for the same item elsewhere before I canceled and ordered them from LMR. I ordered them on Monday and was at my door that Friday....
The shorty headers were in great shape and I highly recommend the ceramic coating. Like many have said the headers do tone down the sound a bit from the stock manifold. Don't know why but they do. The trade off is low end grunt, I can tell the increase in bottom end from take off to cruising at highway speed. It takes less pedal to maintain your speed which I'm sure over time I'll see and increase in MPG.
Don't get me wrong, when you step on the gas they let you know they are there. I run Borla tour AB and the combination sounds deeper than it was before. If you're getting these for more sound don't bother, if you wanna dress up the motor and gain bottom end I recommend these for sure.
I'm an old fart and it took me 5 hours by myself to install them. A good part of that time was cutting the manifold to the exhaust pipe studs in half since they unscrewed from the manifold and was dangling in the flange. It takes very few tools to complete the job. Number one tool is a ratcheting 13mm box wrench... It wasn't necessary to remove the starter like many others have said. Just more work than needed...
