Barton completely redesigned their S550 shifter to give you the option for mounting the shifter to suit your shifting preference. The new Hybrid 3 shifter can be mounted directly to the transmission or to the body. By mounting to the transmission, you are installing it as a solid linkage, which greatly reduces the sloppiness and missed shifts. You also have the option to mount it to the body for a pivot-style mount like the factory shifter. No matter which way you mount it, you will greatly benefit from shifting feel over the factory shifter.

The shifter has an adjustable side-to-side spring pressure which dials you in for a perfect 2 to 3 shift every single time!
