1979-95 Ford Mini Starter by SVE by SVE

This is the perfect starter for anyone with a fox body with long tubes on them I have a 91 it starts everytime when hot you guys know what i'm talking about .. GET IT THIS WILL FIX YOUR PROBLEMS ...

I got this starter because my factory one was getting heat socked, put in the new one and fixed my problem and even starts better I would recommend it to all and was at a good price.

This starter is so much easier to install than the factory started. It takes up much less space. The car now starts better than it did with the factory starter which turned over too slow. This one is has totally different sound and is quick to start the car. The only difficulty is taking the mammoth factory one out. We ended up having to take the right front wheel off the car to give us better access to the old starter.

this starter replaced my old dirty heavy stock unit. it was easy to install even with my long tube headers. it turns the engine over really easy and seems to spin it a little faster and with ease. it looks great under the car too. you just cant beat the price and free next day delivery of Late Model Restoration, I highly recommend this high torque mini starter to anyone as well as Late Model Restoration.

The starter fit and bolted up perfectly, although I had an issue with the stock power wire not being long enough to slide all the way on to the stud. I have a 1990 GT, and the stock power wire was about 1 inch too short and I was not able to slide the power wire all the way down on the stud without using some washers to ensure a snug connection. It was not possible to pull the power wire out any to get extra length from it either.

The trigger wire thats included with the starter was also too short by about 1-2 inches. There is no slack on the trigger wire going from the starter, to the solenoid, so I had to be very careful on how to route this wire, I was not able to run it along the stock power wire, this would have made it impossible to connect properly.

Im not seeing any other issues with the stock power wire & trigger wire not being able to connect to the unit, so this may just be a one-off issue. Im not sure why my wires weren't long enough to connect straight-up to the starter, but after messing with it enough I got it working and its been about 500 miles since the install. No issues to report with product functionality and my 5.0 seems to have less trouble turning over with the new starter.

I was having cranking issues on my '89 Vortech-charged 302, mainly a slow, sometimes-hanging start. My battery is relocated to the trunk, so I wasn't sure if it was due to the extra distance of the cable or if my 26-year-old starter was starting to fail. I knew I was going to have to start troubleshooting the issue, but I decided to just go with this starter first, mainly because of the way the wiring changes… being that the main battery cable basically goes all the way to the starter, without the stock solenoid having to pass the power to it. This starter also makes better use of the available current and is stronger than the stock starter (so they advertise). The result; the starter spins up very quickly and quietly and starts the car fast. Much, much better than the behavior of the stock starter. The sound is weird to get used to, as it sounds like a Camry or something but it fires up the car great. The only aspect I can't review is the longevity of this part. Will it last 20-30 years like the stock units? Who knows… but so far I'm very happy with it. The price is great too, only a few bucks more than a remanufactured stock unit.

I love the space under the headers and these thing weighs a lot less than the stock one. I didn't feel a difference when cranking my mustang but the sound is different when the starter engages to crank up your mustang. Make sure you wire it correctly or you will have the starter engaging for a second or two longer if you don't.

This starter is awesome! The whole kit is basically fool proof. Wired and installed in no time and just as it says "mini" much more room around the long tubes.

i have a 92 GT & still running stock starter & last week i hit a big puddle and fried my solenoid, it would still work but i had to hit it with a wrench while someone else started it. so i bought this SVE High Torque Mini starter. It is smaller so installing was easier but still had a tough time with the top bolt like everyone does, i used a small powerful cordless ratchet & fit it threw k member hole. after installed it started right up so much smoother and way less noise from the starter & cranks my 5.0 with ease. Very happy! Thumbs up!!

I was in desperate need of a new starter for my 93' foxbody. After browsing LMR for all my foxbody needs,SVE starter was purchased and delivered to my door in a timely fashion.Vehicle was raised up and right wheel was removed for better access to the top bolt in through the K-member.In the end,we opted for a longer extension and accessed the top bolt through the front of the vehicle.Starter swapped,cable ran,and now I have one of the quickest starting foxbody on this side of town.

When my stock starter failed after installing my high compression 358, I bought this starter.....and I should have done so much sooner.
This starter is exceptional! Lightweight, looks great, and most importantly.....it works perfectly! It turns over my engine with ease due to the high torque/gear reduction.

I bought this starter last month. I was a bit reluctant to buy a starter online. I was afraid if I got a bad one or had to send back in the future. Was told if I have issues with it in the future I would have to send back but could get a refund. Can't ask for any more than that! So far a great starter. I'm about to purchase a SVE radiator next.

Smaller and lighter than stock. Other than getting to the upper bolt (which is a pain bc of location by Ford) the starter is easier to install than stock. It is mich stronger than stock and has a cool newer type sound. Feels like I'm starting up a newer ford. No reason to buy stock instead.

Installation was easy, especially while I had my engine out for overhaul. Light weight, durable, and at the right price. Once I put the engine and transmission in the car and hooked the wiring up, it cranked the engine over with less effort than the old bulky stock unit.

91 mustang lazy start when hot. Lazy start no more wit this upgrade. It's a blessing for your foxbody 87-93. Not that bad of an install. The old starter cable is a bit short, but with a little pull and twist it bolts on. Starts right up every time. Thanks LMR.

This was a straight bolt on and the fit was perfect. The starter is lighter and smaller then the original. The quality looks and feel good. I replaced the failed starter on my 94 GT with this starter and has been starting my mustang every time with no issues.

My 1991 mustang gt convertible still had the original starter, which began to fail. So, I've decided to replace it with a SVE high-torque mini starter. So far, it works great. Sounds quieter than the original starter and cranks faster with less amp usage!

Keep having hot strat issues with the old style started. Even after heat wrapping it. Installed this one with the provided wiring and haven't had one issue. As always it was on my doorstep in no time with free shipping. Thanks LMR!

This starter gets my 1995 Mustang Gt started quickly! You can also hear the nice high torque starter sound which is a plus! So much better than stock. I definitely recommend this starter and the price is great.

Had problems with my 89 starting when it was hot. When I changed my headers over to BBK long tubes, figured now was the time for another new smaller starter. Installed and works great, and a good price.

My '95 had a PMGR starter, but she was old and tired. The new starter spins the engine over quickly and has her firing off fast as new. No need to spend more than this.

Very quiet, very affordable, simple install and more bang for your buck. I have headers and so far no issues with HOT start.

Install was easy even with long tubes on the car. It even came with a new solenoid wire that I was not aware of.

Installed on a 1994 Cobra with 10.1 compression and turns over with ease. Also gives good clearance for headers.

Cranks the motor nicely even with a slightly drained battery. Sounds much better than the old clunky starters.

So my factory starter went out and I got this new SVE high torque mini starter for 9 dollars more than the rebuild one at the local part store and still with a lifetime warranty. You can't beat that. I haven't had time to install it yet but I'm sure it will work just fine. Ohh and shipping was fast too.

Over all,this starter install was great,it took only 45 minutes from removal to install of the new starter.Anyone with a Fox Body get this one,warranty the fit the set up,i did it on 2 floor jacks on the floor in the backyard at 50* NY weather.

Haven't installed yet but came fast and is what I was looking for
