79-93 Mustang SVE Telescopic Steering Shaft Assembly
Reduce sloppy steering in your Fox Body with this 1979-1993 Mustang SVE steering shaft assembly! From the factory, there is a rubber rag joint in the middle of your steering shaft that deteriorates over time. This causes play and unpredictability when you turn the steering wheel. Now you can eliminate that failure point altogether with this SVE steering shaft assembly for power steering racks. Featuring a telescopic (adjustable) design, this steering shaft adjusts the length of the shaft to ease installation. Telescoping steering shafts will collapse in the event of a collision which improves the safety of your Fox Body. Manufactured in a slim, steel construction; this steering shaft is thin enough to provide extra clearance for headers and aftermarket k-members (compared to stock shaft), yet durable enough to withstand harsh driving conditions. Borgeson single needle bearing U-joints are utilized on this steering shaft to provide precise control and smooth response with any movement of the steering wheel. These U-joints are TIG-welded to the steering shaft to provide a secure connection that won't slip like other shafts that use set screws. A splined column coupler is included to ease the installation of this shaft, as well as allow you to fine tune the final installation position and mate up to your power steering rack for a quick and easy installation. SVE's telescopic steering shaft is the perfect choice for any Fox owner looking to improve the steering of their Mustang.
