79-93 Mustang SVE Telescopic Steering Shaft Assembly for SN95 Rack
Ease the installation of an SN95 steering rack in your 1979-1993 Mustang with this SVE steering shaft assembly! Switching from a Fox steering rack to an SN95 steering rack is a popular upgrade due to the stiffer torsion bar and improved steering assist valve. The obstacle Fox owners face when using this rack is the connection from the steering rack to the steering shaft as Ford used a "V" connection which differs from the stock spline connection. SVE solves that problem with this telescopic steering shaft with the proper "V" connection. Featuring a telescopic (adjustable) design, this steering shaft adjusts the length of the shaft to ease installation and will also collapse in the event of a collision which improves the safety of your Fox Body. Manufactured in a slim, steel construction; this steering shaft is thin enough to provide extra clearance for headers and aftermarket k-members (compared to stock shaft), yet durable enough to withstand harsh driving conditions. Borgeson single needle bearing U-joints are utilized on this steering shaft to provide precise control and smooth response with any movement of the steering wheel. These U-joints are TIG-welded to the steering shaft to provide a secure connection that won't slip like other shafts that use set screws. A splined column coupler is included to ease the installation of this shaft, as well as allow you to fine tune the final installation position and mate up to your power steering rack for a quick and easy installation. SVE's telescopic steering shaft is the perfect choice for any Fox owner looking to improve the steering of their Mustang.
