Fitment Notice

Fits 1986-2014 Mustang with 8.8" Rear End.
Yukon does NOT scribe the pinion depth into the pinion head on new gearsets. If needed, you can contact the Yukon Tech Department at (425) 348-9002 for any setup questions.
Does NOT fit 2013 Boss or 2013-2014 GT500 with axle codes S-215-D and S-219-D.
Some track pack option cars will require the larger pinion bearing - LRS-4625AB.
Although the Royal Purple gear oil has a friction modifier mixed in, it is still recommended that you use the bottle of Ford Performance friction modifier to supply your 8.8 rear ends with the proper amount of modifier.
PVTKF8.8-B 2012 GT500 high-torque rear pinion bearings are included as an Upgrade for Factory Components and works on all 1986-2014 Mustang 8.8 differentials.
LMR recommends the 75W140 viscosity for all 1986-2014 8.8" differentials as it is appropriate for most climates, fuel economy, and performance.

Yukon backs this gear kit against the manufacturer's defects for one year. This kit includes everything needed to install 3.73 gears on your Mustang!

Gear Installation Kit
The gear install kit w/American-made Koyo bearings install kit from Yukon Gear includes everything you need for a ring and pinion gear swap on a Mustang 8.8" rear axle. This kit includes the same style high torque pinion bearing found in the 2012 Mustang GT500. This bearing increases durability for modified Mustangs. Along with the GT500 style bearing, this kit includes a carrier and pinion shim set, carrier bearings w/ races, pinion seal, ring gear bolts, crush sleeve, pinion nut, marking compound, and differential cover gasket!

Ford Racing Friction Modifier
Ford Racing friction modifier is a specially formulated additive to provide smooth operation of clutch-type, limited-slip differentials. One bottle of friction modifier is required when changing the gear oil in rear ends equipped with Ford traction-lock units.

Changing your rear end gear ratio will require you to recalibrate your speedometer. For 83-95 Fox Body and SN95 Mustangs, you will need to replace your speedometer gear to fix your speedometer. If you have a 1996 to present Mustang your best fix is to pick up a SCT tuning device such as the SF3 handheld tuner to correct your speedometer. When replacing the ring and pinion gears on your Mustang don't forget to pick up a traction lok clutch repair kit or new traction lock differential.
