Ford Performance 8.8" Rear Pinion Flange
Replace the damaged pinion flange on your 1986-2004 Mustang solid rear axle or 1999-2000 Cobra IRS with this Ford Performance unit. The pinion flange is what retains your rear pinion gear and is used to join the driveshaft to the rear axle assembly. When you tighten the pinion nut against it, it compresses the crush sleeve and pre-loads the pinion bearings. The pinion seal rides on the flange, and over time, the seal wears a groove in the sealing surface, causing gear oil leaks and other issues such as vibration and, in some instances, gear howl. Get your Mustang driveline in proper working order with this high-quality replacement pinion flange!
