Motorcraft PCV Screen Filter
Restore proper crankcase ventilation while preventing gasket blowouts on your 1986-1995 Mustang 5.0 with this Motorcraft PCV filter screen. Your original PCV screen filter can become clogged up and will not allow crankcase vapor to pass through, causing pressure issues inside the engine crankcase. The Mustang PCV (pressure control valve) Filter Screen is a metal casing that is stuffed with a steel mesh-type material. Its job is to trap oil vapor while the engine is running and keep it from collecting on the PCV valve or intake manifold. Once the engine is shut off and cool again. The Vapor turns back into a liquid state and drains back into the lifter valley. Over time, however, these filters get clogged up and no longer allow proper ventilation. These are normally replaced when replacing the Pressure Control Valve (PCV).
