This complete Mustang clutch cable kit is a great upgrade for your 1982-95 5.0L or 1994-04 Mustang 3.8L V6. Features a heavy-duty teflon lined cable with durable metal fittings, billet aluminum quick release quadrant, and billet firewall adjuster with locking nut.
Note
The LRS-7553H is shipped with a reducer sleeve installed in the adjuster. Not all clutch cables require the use of this reducer. Included in the package is a small allen wrench. On the knurled part of the adjuster face (the part you would grab to turn it) there is a small threaded hole that has a set screw in it that is tightened down & holds the reducer sleeve in place. Use the allen wrench to remove the set screw & the you can remove the reducer. Now the cable will fit in to place. Bellhousing to firewall sheath length is 46" and Quadrant contact point to end of threaded cable is 60".

We just installed this kit along with the Econo T-5 short shifter in my son's 94 GT. The kit is awesome! All the components are very well made. Too bad the quadrant is up under the dash, a very cool looking unit. The adjuster is equally cool. The cable, well its a cable, but way nicer than the old stock one!
The install: The quadrant, definately watch the videos! The hardest part of the install was being upside down in the cramped confines of the under dash area. Once the old pieces are removed, it's a breeze!
The adjuster installation was very easy. The 3 mounting holes make it simple, just turn it until one of the holes lines up to the stock hole!
The clutch cable: Read the instructions!!! File off the 4 "pins" and remove the grommet! Running the cable under and to the transmission was the most difficult part. Definately follow the origional path, much easier!
Once everything was in place and the initial adjustment to the cable is made, the fine adjustment on the fire wall is AWESOME!!

I recently did a clutch job on my 3.8l and needless to say the plastic quadrant and cable were oem from factory and they were well beyond shot and when I got the kit I was amazed at the quality of the product everything fit great and the only problem I had was the plastic sleeve that goes into the firewall but after a little trimming it fit nice in the firewall adjuster Defintly going to recommend this kit to all my buddy's when I go to do there clutch late model restoration is one of the best sites I have seen fast shipping awesome customer service they haven't let me down yet

I just installed this setup in my 88 Hatch. It was very simple to install and looks/fit great. Just be aware that the firewall adjuster comes fitted with a sleeve that may need to be removed via the allen wrench supplied with the kit. The sleeve can be removed by inserting the allen wrench into the hole within the knurled area of the firewall adjuster and turning to loosen the retaining screw.

I bought this kit when I installed my motor. It fit perfect and the fire wall adjuster is a must as anyone running long tube header will agree adjusting your clutch from under the car sucks

I have a 1990 5.0 LX convertible with grinding gears so I wanted to replace the quadrant and cable. I reviewed this product and watched the "how to" video many times. What a help! Made me think I could do it.
I did it. It turned out great and the car shifts so much better. No forcing simple shifts. However 2 caveats: 1) I am 55 y/o and working on my back under the dash with sweat fogging my reading glasses and having a sore back for the next week was tough. Also my car had some sort of bracing under the dash/steering wheel area that made getting the old stuff off and new stuff in problematic but eventually it went in. This is a young person's enterprise
2) The end of the cable at the fork end with the adjustable screw wouldn't go in like the original came out as the end was too thick to go in thru the hour glass shaped slot. I had to eventually take the two nuts off, thread it thru the small end of the slot and put the nuts back on. Scored the threads trying to force it before reason prevailed. Not a huge issue, just one to keep in mind. Also I had ordered a new cable retaining clip that ended up being too small. Fortunately the original was still good so used it.
Overall very pleased with results. Nice upgrade and the video really helped me to get over my fear of doing this project myself. Just take Advil prior.

The cable and quadrant were perfect but the firewall mounted adjuster's inner diameter was way too small. I had to grind off most of the new cable's plastic and then hammer it into the adjuster to get it to work. Should've ordered the Steeda or BBK kit instead for the same amount of money.
