1987-1997 Mustang 5.0 Resto Fuel Sending Unit
Is your 1987-1997 Mustang Fuel gauge not working? It might just be that you need a new sending unit. 5.0 Resto offers this reproduction of the OEM fuel sending unit to get your gauge reading correctly again. The 5.0 Resto reproduction unit comes with the fuel sender lock ring that holds it to the tank as well as the seal.

On 1994-1997 Mustang, you will have to reuse your original lock ring as the one included with the sending unit will only work on 87-93 or aftermarket replacement fuel tanks.

Fitment Note
-1979-1986 Mustang Fuel Level Sending Unit Ohm Readings are approximately 73 ohms empty and approximately 10 ohms full.

-1987-1997 Mustang Fuel Level Sending Unit Ohm Readings are approximately 22 ohms empty and approximately 145 ohms full.

Fuel Sending unit

My sons 88GT gas gauge always stayed on empty so I ordered this unit and popped it in in less than an hour, the only problem was the two tabs under the plug needed to be squeezed in a little to fit in the opening but other than that it was fairly simple and works great! Can't bet the price either especially when it was gonna cost me almost a hundred dollars at the local parts store. Another thing to remember is if you get this unit also buy the filler neck grommet with it, because your gonna tear it lowering the tank

Quality of construction was ok, calibration was off, swapped float to original ford, was better. I would get the ford one if I can swing it.

Fuel level sending unit

I own 2 foxbody 5.0 Mustangs, an 88 GT and and an 89 LX. This is also my 2nd fuel level sending unit purchased from Latemodel Restoration Supply. I purchased a fuel level sending unit for my 89 LX a couple of years ago. And I purchased another fuel level sending unit for my 88 GT 2 weeks ago. The fuel level sending units are of the highest quality and Latemodel Restoration has the best prices around. These sending units are just what I needed for my modified stangs! The staff at LRS are very helpful,friendly, and professional!

Excellent Replacement

Not having a gas level reading got old pretty quick. Couple of close calls where I barely made it to the gas station sputtering. Bought this fuel level sending unit from LMR two weeks ago and showed up on my door step just a few days later. I installed it the sending unit in an hour. Would of been quicker had my tank been empty. Not a good idea changing this with anything more than 1/4 tank full, mine was 3/4 full. It was a simple swap of the old to the new. I had to use my old locking ring though so double check yours before throwing out the old one. Feels great to have a gas level reading again.

1994 Gas gauge---Got it working!

I bought this so I could have a better idea of the amount of gas in the tank, of my 1994 Mustang v6, other than hoping it would make it 300 miles a tank! The sending unit dropped right in. The flange that came with it wouldn't fit. It only had three notches to attach to the tank but the original had four. The gasket fit perfect with the old flange, which I cleaned and reused, and it locked down correctly and bingo! The gauge is working!

Good product

The issue I had was that the retainer lock ring on my car is a 4 tab not a 3 tab, like what comes with the unit.
Also, the new rubber ring stands vertical.
My lays flat.
The new style rubber ring would not seal and the lock ring would not go in.
I just reused my old ones.

This is a perfect fit this way I didn't have to get a universal 1 and have to keep messing with it to read properly like my friend did might be $25 more than the universal 1 from AutoZone but not having to adjust it a dozen times to read correctly. ......... PRICELESS

Fixed my sending unit in 95 GT. Came with o-ring and lock ring, however it had the wrong lock ring for my car. I was able to use the old one and it worked out just fine.
