5.0 Resto Charcoal Canister Restoration KitReduce the smell of gas fumes in the cabin of your 1987-1993 Fox Body Mustang; ditch that old charcoal canister for this charcoal canister restoration kit from LMR! The Charcoal Canister that is featured in this kit is designed to capture fuel vapors and prevent them from escaping into the atmosphere. Over the years, the charcoal will stop absorbing vapor effectively, which requires the canister to be changed. 5.0 Resto kit includes a new canister, canister caps, mounting bracket, hoses, fitting, and installation hardware needed to restore your charcoal canister system. The elbow will install on the canister, and the reducer will install on the opposite end of the hose that connects to the purge valve. Supplied are various diameter hoses for you to cut to length and replace any cracked or missing lines!
Mustang Charcoal Canister BracketDesigned to mimic the factory bracket for a direct fit, this bracket is constructed from high-quality steel that is built to last! Finished in a durable black powder coat to resist corrosion from water and debris. We include two new bracket-to-frame mounting bolts and one bolt for securing the canister to the frame for a complete installation.
5.0 Resto Charcoal Canister CapsMade from a durable plastic construction, these caps match the factory dimensions and tolerances. Each cap is molded in a black finish to match a factory appearance. The caps properly seal the canister to keep in the pellets and to keep out dirt, moisture, and debris. These caps simply pop into place on your charcoal canister with no modifications required for installation!
What Is A Charcoal Canister? The fuel tank vapor charcoal canister is located on the right-hand front frame rail behind the radiator. Its basic purpose is to help protect the environment and increase fuel mileage. It does this by capturing fuel vapors and preventing them from escaping into the atmosphere. It then stores the fumes and sends them back to the fuel tank or engine intake for combustion as needed. Over the years, the charcoal will stop absorbing vapor effectively, which requires the canister to be changed.
