The fuel tank vapor charcoal canister's basic purpose is to help protect the environment and increase fuel mileage. It does this by capturing fuel vapors and preventing them from escaping into the atmosphere. It then stores the fumes and sends them back to the fuel tank or engine intake for combustion as needed. Over the years, the charcoal will stop absorbing vapor effectively, which requires the canister to be changed. Made from a durable plastic construction with all of the correct mounting points, hoses, and connections as your original. A brand new shield is installed as it is commonly broken or damaged for an OEM finish.
